Park City Schools: Latest Updates, News, and Developments

Families moving to Park City, Utah often ask Valen Lindner and Jamison Frost about the local school options

Since we last blogged about the school options in Park City, there have been some construction updates. The public schools opened this week with some new routes around the building zones. Given that families looking to relocate to Park City often inquire about the nearby schools, now presents an excellent opportunity to showcase the diverse educational choices available in our captivating alpine community, along with the most recent developments.

While the public schools are operational, multi-million dollar construction projects are on-going  with a few of the objectives being to eventually move the 9th grade up to the high school, move the 8th grade over to the middle school, and decommission Treasure Mountain Junior High. Park City High School and Ecker Hill additional wings are under way. The elementary schools will be enhanced with pre-school areas. Two of the elementary schools (Jeremy Ranch and McPolin) will have Wrap-Around Services wings, based on the Mountain View Community Center in Bringham City. These spaces may add community kitchen and gathering spaces as well as learning centers.

Key enhancements to the schools also include energy efficiency, Green building materials and LEED certification.

If you are traveling SR 248 into Park City, you will also notice road improvements when passing the High School and Junior High. The traffic lanes will be narrower in order to create shoulder lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, which can also become dedicated bus routes during heavy traffic times.

As real estate professionals and parents, we often share our insight on the public and private school opportunities. Here is a broad overview from pre-school to high school.
