While riding the chairlift or walking along Main Street, you may be wondering what it would be like to live in this alpine town full time or part time. We’d like to share some of the top five questions buyers ask when considering purchasing property in Park City.

What are the advantages of living slope side vs. some of the outlying areas?

Some of the greatest benefits of owning a ski-in/ski-out home is that the ski trail is immediately accessible without the hassle of traffic or parking. In some locations, you can ski a few runs before the general public is able to make their way to certain trails. Long term renters love these advantages too, which enhances the rental income opportunity.

What properties can be rented short term vs. long term?

Community HOAs govern the nightly rental permissions, so each subdivision is different. When we list a property, we contact the HOA to find out if nightly rentals are allowed and what the minimum rental period is. We would be happy to start a property search for you based on your criteria.

What Park City areas are within the school district?

Not all properties in Park City are within the school district. The district is not based on distance from the schools, for instance Promontory is not within the line while Red Hawk is. We often place the important information about the district delineation in our listing headline or remarks to help buyers. What is there to do in the summer time?

You may be experiencing the “Greatest Snow on Earth” but one of the Park City sayings is that people “come for the winter and stay for the summer.” There is so much to do and see in the area that we are often glad the daylight lingers late in the evenings. Here are a few activities to whet your appetite: hiking, biking, pickleball, boating, golfing, paddleboarding, camping and fishing. The variety of water activities is courtesy of the beautiful reservoirs and rivers in our area: the Jordanelle, Deer Creek, Provo River, Rockport, and Echo to name a few. The ski mountains are laced with hiking and biking trails and within a short drive is the entrance to the Uinta National Forest.

Are there any outlying areas around Park City to consider?

Yes! New development, resale properties and vacant land are available in Midway, Heber, Kamas, Oakley, Francis and Coalville. These growing areas have stunning mountain views and are a short drive to Park City. The Kamas Valley is near the Jordanelle and the Uinta Mountains.
