In a groundbreaking development, the already-acclaimed Deer Valley Resort is set for a monumental expansion, elevating its status as a premier skiing destination. With the operating agreement negotiated with Extell Developer of Mayflower Mountain Resort, the newly enlarged footprint promises to redefine the skiing experience. The resort will feature a host of new amenities including 16 new chairlifts, one of which will be a 10-person gondola, making it the largest ski resort expansion in recent years.
Extending the Terrain
The Mayflower Mountain Resort is poised to add an expansive 4,100 acres to the existing 2,026 acres of Deer Valley, bringing the total skiable terrain to a staggering 5,726 acres. With this major terrain expansion, skiers will have access to 238 distinct runs, all served by a network of 37 chairlifts, including the soon-to-be-longest six-person lift in North America.
Focus on Excellence
In a continuation of Deer Valley’s legacy of providing top-notch service, new skier services are set to be established at the base area. These will further enhance the resort’s renowned grooming, dining options, and exceptional hospitality. Moreover, the resort will continue its tradition of maintaining a limited daily skier count, ensuring a premium, uncrowded skiing experience.
Skiing-Only Trails
Continuing its unique offering, Deer Valley will maintain its status as a skiing-only resort. This move is aligned with Deer Valley’s long-standing commitment to provide an unparalleled skiing experience.
Unmatched Amenities
Mayflower is not just expanding the ski experience; it’s elevating it. The development plans to feature four mountainside dining venues, a ski school and a dedicated children’s facility. The resort will also introduce an innovative ice skating “ribbon,” and boast the most expansive ski beach on the North American continent. A total of up to nine hotels and 1,800 residential units are in the pipeline, including a section devoted to military families.
New Portal and Village
The project includes a new eastern portal that connects to US 40, offering convenient access to the resort and making it just a 40-minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport. A new village is also planned, adding to the resort’s allure as a complete lifestyle destination.
A Four-Season Destination
Mayflower isn’t just a winter destination. Plans include year-round amenities, from a Tiger Woods designed golf course to private trails for hiking and biking, and an integrative wellness center, making it Utah’s newest four-season resort.
This expansion sets a new standard in luxury alpine living, fulfilling both the adventure-seeker’s dream and the peace-seeker’s sanctuary. With such a substantial addition to its already formidable offerings, the newly-expanded Deer Valley Resort is set to become the ultimate mountain resort, offering boundless beauty, serenity, and endless opportunities for alpine adventures.
